A Family Affair...

      It was such a pleasure to photograph the wedding of these two Love birds! This newly united family couldn't have been more welcoming and gracious. With only the family members attending everyone having a hand in the day. It was joyous capturing the little moments of the wedding day preparations. Sarah and Daniel's families really worked together to create the perfect day; a hand made cake, a gorgeously arranged bouquet, the table set with care, rose petals spread for an isle, a proud ring bearer practicing follow the leader, a chorus of rehearsing Mothers in the Family room, and the bride and groom, separated only by floor boards of the house, awaiting the moment of a lifetime. It was the sweetest thing...

A Stately Event...

CONGRATULATIONS KIMBERLY & JAMES

  It's that time of year again; the love birds are tying the knot, getting hitched, taking the plunge and saying "I Do". We are gearing up for some really fun unique weddings this summer, and getting to photograph Kim and James's Wedding below, well, we really started this season off with a bang!  I've been looking forward to this awesome wedding since I photographed Kim and James's engagement portrait last fall in the Back Bay. What a great pair of love birds! Kimberly and James hosted an amazing "off-island" affair up in Boston, MA at the stunning State Room. Amidst panoramic views of Boston Harbor these two wonderful people wed just before sunset. I'll let the photos tell the story, but WOW!

I got all your messages...

Julia Kidd, among her many talents, is a fabulous artist here on Martha's Vineyard. She has created the amazing installation piece that you have been admiring all over our beautiful Island landscape. The signs that she strategically placed each have an important and individual message.  What is the question that her art is asking?  How does this sign make you feel? What does it inspire you to think about?  I've heard a lot of different opinions and thoughts on the installation... "is it a proposal"? "Are they there to make us happy?" "I love them". "I don't like them".  

Personally, I love them, they make me happy, they make me pause and consider things and smile. Wether you like them or not they are a reflection of you; that is the true art, they are fabulous! Thanks Julia, for giving our spring island a little more love!

The Little Nugget...

I love that I get to share in peoples most exciting memories! I photographed Amanda and Jarrett's wedding back in the Summer of 2010 and now they are expecting their first little bambino! Waiting for the "big day" to find out if their new little one will be a boy or a girl they have been calling their growing baby "nugget", soo cute right! Never too much Baby Love...

It's been a bit since my last post; winter, travel, new members of the family, old friends, lot's of food, wine and music. It's been a wonderful winter this year, just wonderful. My Older brother Sean and my sister in-law Katelyn are expecting and it's the first grandchild of the family; an amazing event in the Conklin Clan Story. We await this little one with open arms and a lot of excitement. I know there are a lot of photos here, but I think it's just the right amount, as I mentioned; there's never too much baby love. Sean and Katelyn, I am so happy an excited for the three of you, I love you so much and your little sunshine that is to be! ♥

Kim + James...

What a great couple Kim and James are, they braved the cold wind and even a few sprinkles to get these fun shots around Back Bay. I looooove shooting in Beantown, it's so inspiring to be around the character and texture of those old town houses and the way the sun glows off of the stone and brick, so sweet! Watch out baby girls, Bronson Thomas will steal your heart! Just look at those baby blues! I had a blast Photographing Des, Tom, and Little Bronson in Brooklyn last week, we had to dodge the rain but we managed to snag a bunch of great shots of the little guy; it was hard not to....

Congratulations Jennifer & Tim...

I'm sad to say that this beautiful day was my last wedding of the season, but what a fantastic way to end a great wedding year! Jennifer and Tim are the sweetest and cutest love birds around, Islanders to boot! Jennifer has immpeccable style and antique taste; everything from the ceremony Arbor to the fresh shucked clams and chowder was perfect, I was running around like a kid in a candy store photographing all of her fun details. The best part of the day however ws the undeniable love. The way that these love birds had their ceremony was so telling of their lives; a circle of their loved ones stood around them as they said "I do"; that circle of love was apparent all day and night; it was a blessing to be a part of. I am a lucky girl!

Pam + Nick...

Edgartown Light at sunset in October with two adorable love birds... you can't get much better than that! We had so much fun with Pam and Nick's engagement shoot; at one point my iphone came alive and started playing a jazz tune from the Dirty Dozen Brass Band so Nick grabbed Pam and they danced on the lighthouse wall, it was so sweet. Thanks for braving the mucky water for me you guys, it was worth it...

I can't wait for the big day!!!

What a perfect Chilmark Fall day we had on Saturday; bright sun, big swift clouds, and that brilliant blue sky right before and after sunset, not to mention the love in the air and Annie's sweet decor and details! Anastassia Grace...

I had the great pleasure of meeting Anastassia Grace for a portrait shoot the other day. Stassia is an amazing soul and has quite a spiritual connection with life and it's energy, as well as the energy that flows within and without us all. Stassia is a spiritual medium; she can act as a conduit between our world and those who have transcended from our physical world. Her work amazes me and I'm curious to learn more. Portraits are my favorite photo shoots to do and this one in particular was special. Thank you Stassia for helping me to do what I love!

Love, love, loooooooove birds are my favorite type of people, and Cindy and Adam are some of the sweetest love birds I've met! We had a glorious fall photo shoot out on Lamberts Cove Beach this weekend. Perfect weather and a perfect match. Thanks for coming all the way down to MV for our shoot guys!

The best part of my job is to be a ble to see families and couples experience the best moments of their lives and then to revisit these same families as their brothers and sisters and children have amazing and special moments! Congratulations Diana & Sean!!!

Last Sunday I had the pleasure of Photographing Diana and Sean's wedding in two of my favorite spots in Edgartown; The Daniel Fisher House and the EYC! The wedding was chock full of fun Vineyard details and colors! The ceremony was out on the lawn and although the day started out cloudy the sun broke through just in time for Diana and Sean's vows! It was an amazing day. They even had their guests second line to the EYC for the reception following brass players from the Sultans of Swing! I love weddings with so many different opportunities and locations for awesome shots, and of course awesome love birds who can't stop smiling at each other the entire day! Check them out...

Congratulations Dana & Seth!!!

What a perfect September Day we had on the Vineyard last Saturday; you could see for miles from the shore at the Vineyard Haven Yacht Club. I  love September with it's crisp cool days and bright sun. Dana and Seth; two gorgeous love birds, where so blessed to be married on this beautiful day, but frankly they are more perfect for eachother than September on the Vineyard! See for yourselves...

Gabe is back! And he's a year older too...

Almost 5! That's huge, way bigger than 4. Gabe is quite the character and what us New Englanders call wicked cute! It is so fun watching great kids like Gabe grow up a year at a time; so amazing. Thanks to Gabe's great mom Wendy for bringing him back to the Island! Check out their sweet little clan...

It was great to see you all again!!! I can't wait for next year! :)

Congratulations Chelsea & Sean!!!

We can all feel the difference between following our hearts and following our egos. If we allowed ourselves to always follow our hearts we would be happier; true to ourselves and content in our lives. But, in a society where normalcy is popular, and pecking orders form faster than friendships, we tend to whisper our hearts desires and shout our ego's. Being who we truly are and letting our hearts shout out is the best gift we can give to ourselves and the others around us. Today I'd like to not only congratulate Chelsea and Sean on their commitment to eachother and their amazing bond of love and compassion, but also on being true to themselves and letting their hearts shout aloud for all to see. Chelsea and Sean; everyone at your wedding was proud and amazed of your love and your true selves, we are all better for it. Thank you, and I wish you the best of luck in all of your ventures!
